Immerse yourself in Sicilian culture and beauty for a week filled with fabulous food, wine and adventure in Eastern Sicily. Terrie Viets, owner of Solari, will be your host as you experience life in a luxurious villa by the sea, meals prepared by our personal chefs, excursions to breathtaking destinations and new-found friendships. Terrie has visited Italy 55+ times and has extensive knowledge of Italian culture, its history of artistic craftsmanship, as well as its fabulous food and wine.

Our home for the week will be the incomparable Villa Don Venerando, situated just north of Catania. The villa enjoys a lovely location...just a short walk from above to the beach on Sicily's east coast overlooking the sea. Each double-occupancy bedroom has its own ensuite bathroom. Exquisitely decorated and appointed, Villa Don Venerando will provide the perfect retreat after our daily tours.

Among our exursions will be Ortigia, the historic section of Siracusa, with its beautiful Baroque architecture, lively market and an abundance of memorable views and sites. Other highlights of our week will be winery tours and tastings, a day in Taormina, famous for its film festival, ancient Greek theater, trendy shops, gourmet restaurants and spectacular views. Together we'll explore Noto, a UNESCO World Heritage Site for it's spectabular Baroque architecture. Another day we'll exlore Piazza Amerina, where excavations have revealed one of the richest, largest and varied collections of Roman mosaics in the world, for which it has also been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The ancient port city of Catania is filled with beautiful architecture, gardens and piazzas and is known for its rich culture, art and history. There is also a morning of private yachting planned too, weather permitting!
