Tuscany & Umbria… home to some of the most beautiful landscapes in all of Italy!
On a journey through Italy’s roads less traveled, discover its treasures in Umbria and Tuscany…the marvels of wine, cuisine, culture, and history amongst incomparable scenery. Terrie Viets, owner of Solari, will be your host as you experience life in a luxurious villa, meals prepared by our personal chef, excursions to breathtaking destinations, and new-found friendships. Terrie has traveled to Italy over 50+ times and has extensive knowledge of Italy’s culture, history of artistic craftsmanship, as well as its fabulous food and wine.
Our home for the week will be the incredible Villa Carmine in Umbria at the border of Tuscany, situated where the views from all aspects are stunning…with private gardens and terraces plus walking paths through many hectares of ancient olive groves and vineyards. Each double-occupancy bedroom has its own en suite bathroom. Exquisitely decorated with the finest attention to detail after a 5-year renovation, the villa will provide a perfect retreat after our daily tours.
Together we’ll explore Gubbio, rich in monuments and architectural masterpieces that evoke the power of this town. Perugia is Umbria’s capital with a 14th century borgo historic center and one of the prettiest in Italy. Assisi, framed by the undulating hills of Umbria and forests of Monte Subasio, is one of the best-preserved medieval towns in the world and one of Italy’s most spell-binding gems plus a UNESCO World Heritage site! Anghiari is considered one of the most beautiful villages in Italy and we’ll also go just north for a tour of Museo Casa di Michelangelo where arguably one of the greatest artists of all time was born! The Museo dell’Accademia Etrusca of Cortona is home to the most important Etruscan collection in Italy, and therefore the world. There are more places and sites included and all are sure to amaze!
