The Store

Since 2002, Solari has been the finest destination for beautiful Italian home décor and tableware in the region. Our store reflects the timelessness and warmth of Italy; with 100-year-old rustic wood floors and sunlit stucco walls. We offer warm personal service and a wonderful selection of unique Italian finds and one-of-a-kinds with full customization and in-home consultations available. Add to that our fully equipped kitchen, for hosting our sell-out cooking demonstration classes, and there’s absolutely no equal!

Merchandise is featured in room-like settings to help you visualize how items could look and fit into your own space. From antique cabinets, breakfronts and a fireplace to dining tables and a complete kitchen; place settings, linens and décor pieces are displayed just as you might find them at home. While the fully equipped kitchen serves as a perfect backdrop for our “functional art”, it’s also the scene of many cooking demonstration classes and wine tastings with some of the area’s best chefs.

Terrie Viets

Owner

Inspired by her mom’s lifelong love of decorating and collecting, plus feeling less than well-rounded with her college focus in Chemistry, Terrie commenced her second round of studies in Art History at CWRU. Thus began the love affair with Italy and it’s art. Her 45+ (she’s stopped counting) trips to Italy learning the processes, identifying the best artisan products and building personal relationships with suppliers has brought to customers an incomparable selection of the best Italy has to offer. Terrie is passionate and knowledgeable, having consulted and given talks for Italian agencies about finding and importing products and has been interviewed and featured in a national home décor trade magazine, Home Accents Today, on the same topics.

Lover of her kids and theirs, her dog Olivia, time spent in the store and in her adopted Italy, Terrie also tries to find time to do favorite activities like reading, walking through the Metroparks to the beach, going to The Cleveland Museum of Art and incessantly moving things around in the store…which ultimately confuses Bruce.

Bruce Holloway

General Manager

Bruce joined Solari in 2015 after starting his career as a Buyer for Macy’s New York and May Company Cleveland, then transitioning to Sales and Marketing all in the Tabletop and Gift Industry. He’s worked with many companies including Vietri, Simon Pearce (VP Sales), Mottahedeh and many more. Terrie met Bruce in 2002 when he was Partner of a sales rep group that handled Vietri.

Bruce says that landing at Solari has been a perfect fit…especially working with Terrie, enjoying great Italian design and getting to know and assisting Solari’s wonderful customers. At home, Bruce enjoys time watching movies with his husband and dog, singing in a local choral group and trying new recipes to see if Ted will broaden his pallet. At the store you will find him singing, whistling or humming show tunes, incessantly straightening up displays (better known as fidgeting) and trying to find everything Terrie has moved. His finance degree has made him invaluable to Solari as Terrie has shown little patience for accounting activities.
